Going through my clothes, bags, footwear and accessories…I haven’t even worn 90% of this stuff. Like most people, I just throw on my comfort zone/go-to pieces. I’m going to have to rock some of this stuff this summer, or give it away to someone who will get some valuable use out of it. #UseItOrBlessSomebodyElseWithIt [SIDEBAR: I'm going to be adding fashion to this blog this summer...Fashionistas get ready!]
“Don’t let the wise boast in their wisdom, or the powerful boast in their power, or the rich boast in their riches. But those who wish to boast should boast in this alone: that they truly know me and understand that I am the Lord who demonstrates unfailing love and who brings justice and righteousness to the earth.” -Jeremiah 9:23-24 (NLT) #BeHumbleAndTrue
Trying to deny history is a foolhardy act. Things are what they are. You can’t undo the past. Denying the past is dismissive and insensitive, and shows a lack of a desire to bring about healing. If America, and some of its citizens, continue to deny its history, things will not get better. Only deep examination, analysis, and implemented actions can bring about change. Saying, “racism doesn’t exist,” almost certainly ensures that it always will.
